The conversion from VHS/Hi8 to DVD is done using several tools.  Three different VCRs area tested and the best one used for VHS conversions.  A Hi8 or VHS-C camcorder is used to read the original tape camcorder.  If the tape is flickering, then I can use a technique called Time Base Correction to stabilize the video.  The signal is fed into a capturing device which converts the analogue signal to a digital signal where it is directed into the computer.  From here the color can be adjusted and the video can be edited to remove unwanted segments.  Once the video is prepared for DVD, the procedure shifts to making  the menus and chapter points.  If necessary, the audio will be converted to a different standard to make it more compatible with your DVD player.  After all preparation work is complete, the burn process will begin.  The computer completing this operation is a dedicated computer.  No other processes are run on this computer during the burn stage.   This assures there will be no errors introduced into the DVD.  After the DVD has been created, the video will be tested it in a DVD player to assure that all menus function correctly.  The entire movie will not be watched.  However, if you find errors, please note the time at which the error occurs, and contact me at admin@converttapes.com.

Video conversion has become my hobby and is something I do on the side.  I am not looking to become a large business.  You will never have to worry about your video getting lost, or trying to track someone down just to ask a question.  I am easy to reach.   Please send any questions to admin@ConvertTapes.com.
